Based on research, the more testing that teachers do, the better students get at drawing on their long-term memory. More frequent acts of retrieving information will improve students' understanding in mathematics. Simply put, the process of writing math quizzes or taking tests does more than measure learning, it improves learning. Sorry kids ... this probably not what you want to hear.
